Book your consultation →Getting a GLP-1 prescription is not the finish line. It is the starting line. At Moxie Wellness, GLP-1 therapy is managed as the metabolic intervention it is — with ongoing clinical monitoring of your weight loss trajectory, metabolic markers, lab values, and treatment response. Dr. Howard tracks what matters: A1C trends, fasting glucose, lipid panels, blood pressure, and body composition — not just the number on the scale. This is not a prescription-and-disappear model. This is metabolic health management, delivered by a Johns Hopkins-trained DNP who treats your GLP-1 therapy as part of a comprehensive clinical picture. Whether you are initiating therapy, optimizing your current protocol, or navigating a coverage disruption, Moxie Wellness provides the clinical infrastructure your GLP-1 journey requires.

Who qualifies
GLP-1 medications for weight management are FDA-approved for adults with BMI ≥30, or BMI ≥27 with at least one weight-related condition.
- A personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC)
- Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MEN 2)
- Current pregnancy, breastfeeding, or active conception plans
GLP-1 receptor agonists cause thyroid C-cell tumors in rats. It is unknown whether these medications cause such tumors, including medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC), in humans. GLP-1 therapy is contraindicated in patients with a personal or family history of MTC or in patients with Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MEN 2).
Common side effects include nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, constipation, abdominal pain, headache, fatigue, dyspepsia, dizziness, and gastroesophageal reflux disease. Serious risks include pancreatitis, gallbladder problems, hypoglycemia, acute kidney injury, suicidal behavior or ideation, and severe allergic reactions.
Tell your clinician about all medications you take and your full medical history before starting treatment.
